PERSONAL CARE
Vision’s HHA’s/PCA’s are individuals who provide personal care, home management and other related home health supportive services in order to assist the individual to continue living in their home environment when there are disruptions due to illness, disability, social disadvantage or other problems in the home. The HHA/PCA is under the direct supervision of the licensed nurse.
Typical Personal Care Responsibilities:
- Assisting with bathing of patient – in bed, tub and shower
- Assisting patient in transferring from bed to chair, to wheelchair and in walking with or without devices
- Assisting patient with dressing
- Use of special equipment i.e. Hoyer lift
- Assisting, as instructed with a home exercise program including passive range of motion, turning and positioning
- Making and changed bed/linens
- Dusting and vacuuming the rooms the patient uses
- Tidying the kitchen, dishwashing
- Tidying bedroom
- Tidying bathroom
- Assists with self-administered medications
Skilled Nursing
Our skilled nurses are highly-trained RNs or LPNs who provide one-on-one medical care to help a patient recover from illness or injury. They are available on a per visit or hourly basis and to handle daily needs that are expressly medical or dietary in nature.
Because of the expressly medical nature of skilled nursing care, many private insurance and Medicaid plans can help cover the costs of these services. We would be happy to help you navigate all the options relevant to your situation.
